A bit about me.

I help industry leaders design innovative futures for their customers and organizations with a deep focus in human experience. I am especially proud of my breakthrough work in organizational strategy, ethnographic research and design education.

Executive Practice. Most recently, I spent two years as a change agent in the healthcare industry. I am a transformational servant leader who challenged the organization to think differently about the clients and partners they serve. Together, we co-created a new mobile application for physicians, envisioned a new experience for ambulatory clinics, and helped the organization through a corporate buyout.

Design + Research. My 20+ years in the design community has given me a breadth of experience in organizational design, workshop facilitation, executive and succession coaching, ethnographic research, usability evaluation, concept development, experience, interaction and interface design, rapid prototyping, team process development, and service design.

Director + Professor. I have a long history with Carnegie Mellon University.  For 9 years I taught in the Human-Computer Interaction Institute (HCII) and facilitated Executive Education at the Tepper School of Business.

I also directed the Masters Program in the HCII and taught a capstone course with 12 different corporate sponsors a year. I worked with industry partners like Panasonic, Expedia, Bank of America, GE Healthcare, Cleveland Clinic, 3M and NASA.

Co-founder. Prior to Carnegie Mellon, I co-founded a boutique Design firm, Fit Associates, LLC. Clients included Microsoft, Comcast, Whirlpool and Philips among others.

My Design Philosophy

I see Design as a catalyst for change. It is the place where creativity, compassion and innovation meet.

In these unprecedented times, we are asked to find new perspectives, new models, and new processes to guide the relationships with customers, employees and ourselves.

Design can lead the way.
